Ferra have recently become qualified for the supply of the Integrated Control Panel (ICP) Chassis to Harris Corporation for use on the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35. This represents a significant milestone for Ferra and its Supply Chain, including Heat Treatment Australia, following extensive research and development phase.
Australia’s former Prime Minister, the Hon Tony Abbott visited Ferra Engineering in Brisbane Queensland on the 20th May 2015 along with The Minister for Industry and Science, The Hon Ian Macfarlane, and the Federal Member for Bonner, Ross Vasta MP, to provide Ferra with a million grant under the Manufacturing Transition Programme. In announcing the grant Mr Abbott described Ferra as “a really good, have a go Australian company”, and stated that the Manufacturing Transition Programme has been “designed to help out cutting edge manufacturers to move into the opportunities of the future”.
During a visit to Ferra on 13 April 2016 Minister for Defence Materiel, Dan Tehan, and the Member for Bonner, Ross Vasta, congratulated the company on being a leader in production of Joint Strike Fighter components.
With the potential to secure over a billion dollars in contracts, Ferra’s achievements were duly noted by Minister for Defence Materiel, Dan Tehan, when he visited Ferra’s modern Brisbane headquarters in mid-April, 2016.
